DAY 01 / CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA (L/D)
We will leave Cusco about 4.30 a.m. to 5.00 a.m. by pool service bus to the town of Mollepata (2900 m.a.s.l.), where we will arrive approx. at 9.00 a.m. During the trip we will have panoramic views of the majestic "Salcantay”, one can see a string of impressive snow covered mountains and the Apurimac River valley. We will meet with our support staff, and they will load the equipment on horses and mules. Around 9.00 a.m., we will begin our walk toward Cruz Pata (3200 m.a.s.l.). We will stop for lunch at Challacancha approx. at 12.00 p.m. After lunch, we will continue hiking toward the Soraypampa villages (3850 m.a.s.l.). Around 5.30 p.m. we will arrive to our camp where the tents will be ready for you as well as your dinner.

DAY 02 / SORAYPAMPA – CHAULLAY (B/L/D)
After a fairly early breakfast, embark on the most difficult hike of the trip leaving at 7.00 a.m. We will hike to a place called Pampa Salcantay, then go toward the left side of the snowy peaks of Umantay located next to the Apu Salcantay. At 12.00 p.m. we are in the highest point (pass Salcantay - Umantay 4500 m). We will appreciate spectacular views of the mountains and the imposing snowy peaks of the Salcantay (6264 m) which is known as the second highest point of the Cusco region. After 1 hour lunch break at Huayrac Punku, we continued our walk of 3 hours towards Rayanniyoc field (2890 m) or Chaullay field (2920 m) where we have the camp of the 2nd night.

DAY 03 / CHAULLAY – LA PLAYA – SANTA TERESA (B/L/D)
Around 7.00 a.m., we will start our trek. We will walk for about 6 hours toward Playa Sahuayaco and during this period; we will observe a town called Collpabamba, also called the “Forest Cloudy Brow” where waterfalls, thermal hot springs, fruit-bearing trees, varied flora, and birds can be observed. If we are lucky, we will be able to observe the famous bird called the “Cock of the Rocks”. From Playa Sahuayaco, we will head to the campsite located at the hot springs of Santa Teresa (It is recommended to bring a bath suit).

DAY 04 / SANTA TERESA – HYDROELECTRIC – AGUAS CALIENTES (B/L)
After an early breakfast, we will walk for about 40 minutes to get to the edge of the river Vilcanota, here we will have to use the hanging bridge after which we will walk for 3 more hours towards the Hydroelectric (1870 m). Once there, we will be able to appreciate the valley of the Urubamba river and a huge rainfall that flows from the Machu Picchu mountain. On the northeast we will find an appropriate place where we can have lunch.
Then, you could continue walking until Aguas Calientes or boarding the train at 3.30 p.m. that will take us 45 minutes to the town of Aguas Calientes (2000 m.). Upon arrival, you will be accommodated at the hostel or hotel of your choice.

DAY 05 / AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (B)
Today, we take the early bus up to the stunning archeological complex of Machu Picchu for a guided tour of these mysterious remains. Then, you will have time to explore Machu Picchu on our own; climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain, where you can experience amazing views of all Machu Picchu (bear in mind that there are only 400 visitors allowed per day). Also you can visit the Temple of the Moon or the amazing Inca Bridge.
In the afternoon, we will descend to the small town of Aguas Calientes by bus, where you can visit its hot springs. After lunch (not included), we will take the train back to the city of Cusco.
